Under the Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has just announced a competitive grant funding opportunity for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. With this grant program, FDEP is planning on funding approximately 27 DC Fast charging stations located near major Florida Interstates. The major highways, including I-95, I-295, I-75, I-275, and I-4, are essential evacuation routes for Florida residents, making them the top priority for EV infrastructure. FDEP has divided each of these corridors into 27 segments and will choose one project for each segment, creating a network of stations no further than 40 miles apart. Each site is eligible for up to $500,000 in grant funding (cost-sharing requirements may apply).
